Catching Up After Summer

12 September 2023

By Carolyn L. Winsor

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

With so many activities and weeks passing since the previous newsletter issue, I’ll try to keep this sort of brief and add in some of the interesting tidbits that have crossed my desk in the meantime.

P2P and OIRF:

Thank you for your patience and understanding as I took a rather long “summer” hiatus from my usual duties and chores for P2P/OIRF to work on the OIRF legacy project. Although I focused solely on collecting and categorizing all the materials for input into the new OIRF legacy website for nearly 7 weeks, completion became more than elusive. Afterall, OIRF was founded in 1972 and that means there are at least 52 years of files to go through page by page.

I began the search and prep with all of the newsletters from 2003 through until 2018. With the realization that this represented nearly 400 documents, and also as week #7 of dedicated focus neared, it became apparent that there was absolutely no possibility of bringing the full 50-year range of these historical (but amazingly accurate even today) articles together over a few summer months. Even though I feel compelled to ensure that the many years of publications, newsletters, articles and translations are preserved and protected for future practitioners, it was simply time to step back and re-think the whole process.

So, I took a road trip vacation to visit family and clear the concepts of categories and tags and images and formatting and uploads vs downloads and . . . right out of my head. Although there were some anxious days caused by the terrible (destructive and deadly) wildfires in our area, cruising through the Rocky Mountains and the crisp days of pre-fall, I’ve been able to rearrange my focus and goals.

For now, P2P will continue as in recent years. I will endeavor to keep the monthly newsletters and news updates running regularly but they will likely be pared down in size and some content (due to the continuing restrictive Canadian federal and provincial legislation concerning censorship – see “Protection or Repression” commentary link below). Work on the OIRF legacy project will continue (also at a more sedate pace), and I will return to participation in a number of conferences. Note that I will also be at my desk on a reduced time schedule as I continue my “supposed-to-be-retired” efforts. Please email for an appointment if you wish to talk by phone or Zoom. Thanks again for your understanding.

Carolyn

This Month’s New P2P Article Links

  • Importance of Bioresonance in Diagnostics and Therapy, by Martin Keymer, HP. Bioresonance therapy is the practical implementation of regulation medicine of the vital dynamic equilibrium in everyday therapeutic life. It is primarily working with and influencing the patient’s own electromagnetic oscillations on the basis of the principle of (bio-)resonance. This means that an impulse must resonate with the body (activation of the oscillation-capable systems) in order to achieve an optimal effect in both diagnosis and also in therapy. Read more here.
  • Integrative Medicine Using the Examples of: The Hospital for Naturopathy, Munich and the LIMed, by Robert Schmidt, MD. The most important principle of integrative medicine is the combination of conventional medicine and complementary medicine into a meaningful overall concept. The goal is to find the best individual therapy for the patients and to reduce side effects as much as possible. The decisive factor here is also explicitly the patients, who should be enabled to actively and responsibly participate in decision-making about an overall medical concept for their treatment. This article presents two examples with the Hospital for Naturopathic Medicine and the List of Integrative Medicine (LIMed) which advocate the combination of conventional and complementary medicine in public and in practice. Ivermectin Worked: New Peer-Reviewed Study Proves It.
August 31, 2023
STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • A preprint paper showing ivermectin’s effectiveness against COVID-19 in Peru convinced a group of doctors that widespread ivermectin distribution could end the pandemic in October 2020
  • Because the paper wasn’t yet peer-reviewed, it was brushed off; ivermectin for COVID-19 was vilified, as were those who dared to prescribe it
  • Now, the study has been peer-reviewed and published in Cureus, vindicating ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19
  • Not only did ivermectin work against COVID-19, it was remarkably effective, resulting in a 74% reduction in excess deaths in the 10 Peru states where it was used most intensively
  • There was a 14-fold reduction in nationwide excess deaths when ivermectin was readily available and then a 13-fold increase in excess deaths in the two months after ivermectin use was restricted

And finally:

It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Dr. Garry Gordon. A colleague and friend who worked tirelessly for the improvement and acceptance of preventive, biological and integrative medicine. Another pioneer to whom we all owe a great debt for his service and contributions to

this field. Here is the memoriam from Dr. Jonathan Collin.

Commentaries/Recommendations on Seminars and Conferences

Seminars, Workshops and Conferences:
As travel restrictions have eased many conferences are once again gearing up for fully in person sessions. Here are a few that I recommend. I’ll keep this information updated as details are made available.

  • Acupuncture Meridian Assessment (AMA) workshops of Simon Yu.
Details for 2024 have not yet been released. Watch for information that will be posted as soon as it is available.
    April 2024
    (Standard Training)
    June 2024
    (Refresher Training)
    August 2021
    (Advanced Clinic)
St. Louis, MO in the Classroom at the Prevention & Healing Clinic
Follow this link for details and to register AMA Workshop.
BOOKS: Be sure to get your copies of Dr. Yu’s books: AcciDental Blow Up in Medicine: Battle Plan for Your Life, by Simon Yu, MD. Both books are now available through Amazon.
These seminar/workshops are highly recommended. Dr. Yu publishes a regular newsletter with exclusive articles. CLW
  • The Forum for Integrative Medicine (TFIM) 2024:
Breaking Barriers: Advancing Treatment for Complex Chronic Illness
    February 29 – March 2, 2024, Austin, Texas
It does not appear there will be an online portion available
Follow this link for details and to register TFIM Conference
Once again there is a fantastic lineup of speakers and topics. This is one of the most informative and well organized conferences I have ever had the honor of participating in. Due to travel considerations I am not able to attend this year and am disappointed they will not include the online option of recent years. EXCELLENT Conference! CLW
  • MedWeek 2023 English Session
Sponsored by BioMedicine International and Thomas Rau
    Advances in Multi-Modular Biological Medicine
    November 3-4, 2023
    Baden-Baden,
Follow this link for details on hotel/conference packages English MedWeek 2023
They have developed an interesting program with a broad range of speakers – all in English as a part of the actual full Medicine Week Congress program. I see a return of several methods and speakers that were featured in previous OIRF/P2P sponsored tour and Congress English language programs.
They have chosen to set up their “packages” in fancy (and expensive) 3 and 4 star hotels. Besides the 3-night hotel stay and the English language classes, little else is included for the costly packages.
  • 56th Medicine Week Congress
    November 01 – 05, 2023
    Baden-Baden, Germany
Follow this link for details and to register for full congress Medicine Week Congress
The famous MedWeek Congress. What more needs to be said. For the “brave” and self-sufficient, you can register through the Congress office itself and it includes the 1½ days of the English sessions mentioned in #3 above. Personally, I have arranged my own hotel, transportation and registration so that I can also take in some of the German sessions and regular MedWeek activities. Having participated in more than 35 of these Congress programs over the years, I am anxiously looking forward to returning to the 2023 Congress. Perhaps I’ll see you there? CLW
  • Annual A4M Conference
Longevity Fest 2023, Leveling Up Healthcare
    December 14-16, 2023
    Las Vegas, NV
Follow this link for details and to register A4M Conference
Again, here what more needs to be said. The speakers range from typical to celebrity to exceptional and it should be an exciting and interesting conference. The exhibit area alone is worth the cost of the conference and is highly enlightening. I am also planning to participate in this Conference and look forward to seeing you there! CLW
  • Coming office closures for Carolyn and P2P:
For Med-Week: Closed Fri. Oct. 27 through Wed. Nov. 8, 2023
For A4M: Closed Mon. Dec. 11 through Mon. Dec. 18, 2023
Christmas: Closed Fri. Dec. 22 through Tues. Jan. 2, 2024

In closing . . .

Yes, I think this is enough for now. I have my eye on several journal articles for translation next time, and of course will be back to uploading and formatting yet more articles onto the OIRF legacy website. With no set time of completion for that project I feel more comfortable working away at my own slower speed.

Thanks again to all who have been sending me links for so many interesting political commentaries. The political and elections battlefields seem to be heating up in the USA and Canada along with several other countries and I would like to think as those aspects settle we can see improvement in integration and acknowledgment of our field of energy and biological medicine.

With all best wishes,
Carolyn
